Brandon family notebooks and account books, 1852-1888.

Notebooks (1852-1853) kept by William R. Brandon while attending Yale College record activities and class lectures. Cashbooks (1880, 1884-1885) pertain to Lane Brandon's general store, and his invoice book (1885-1888) contains accounts for cotton shipped by steamboat from Como Landing to New Orleans. Also included is an enlarged microprint of notes written by William Brandon on the flyleaf of the "American agriculturalist" (Vol. 6, 1874) that critique the current status of landlord/tenant/laborer contracts.
